The Ant and the Grasshopper

The Ant and the Grasshopper
by Haylie
On one sunny hot day in summer there was a Grasshopper playing in the meadows when the ants were getting food for winter. One of the ants went past. He said, “You need to get food for the winter”.  He replied “No never, my music is more beautiful than food”.  It was autumn. The leaves were all over the ground but the Grasshopper was still playing the fiddle around the meadow.  Now it began to get cold as winter was arriving but the grasshopper had no food stored for the winter.  The snow was as thick as a basket full of eggs.  The Grasshopper began to get purple as it started to get colder and colder over the time. The Grasshopper only had enough energy to get to the ant hill.  He froze outside like an iceberg.  Three of the ants grabbed the Grasshopper and put him in hot water.  The Queen ant announced to the Grasshopper, “take your fiddle and play a tune and you can live here.” The Grasshopper was not cold anymore.

One summer day a Grasshopper was singing along with his fiddle then, he met a gigantic field of ants! “What are you all doing?  Why are you all working so hard? the Grasshopper said.  We are storing food for the winter grunted the ant struggling to hold onto his piece of corn. “Why don’t you come and have fun with me?” The Grasshopper said. “N-O spells no!” the ant said. “You should be collecting food too!” said the ant fiercely shaking his fists in rage.  But before they it, it was winter.  “And now its winter” snarled the ants who was now punching the grasshopper in the face who heeled in agony because it broke his nose.  “Now if you will excuse me I’m going back to my ant house” The ant ran off.  Like the ant the grasshopper had no choice but to go home too.  But on the way home, he froze! Luckily for him an ant came along with fire and melted the ice that had him secured.  “Next time make sure you stock food for winter when its summer” grinned the ant.  “And next time I will” the grasshopper replied.  “would you like to warm up in ant paradise? The ant asked with a boring voice. “Yes!” cried the grasshopper “I would love to!”.

Once upon a time there lived a million ants and one grasshopper.  When the ants were working hard the very annoying grasshopper came and interrupted them.  The grasshopper said to the little ants, “Why don’t you come and dance with me?” The ants said “No, not at all, now get out of here, now.” So the grasshopper left.  The it turned winter and the grasshopper had nothing to eat.  But he saw one more leaf so he rushed to bite it.  It flew way so he went to the ant tree.  He begged them for one bowl of soup.  The ants gave him one bowl of soup and put him in warm buckets of water.  Then the queen came and said “Move your butt out of this house and play your nicely tuned fiddle”.  So he played and accidentally splashed the queen ant.  They made a deal that he would stay if he helped them collect food.  So he did.

The Grasshopper and the Ants

Once upon a time there was a grasshopper, he was playing a fiddle. He was playing all day and saw some ants working extremely hard.  The grasshopper said to an ant, “Why are you working instead of playing.  The Grasshopper started to play the fiddle. Soon the queen ant saw the grasshopper and said, “Why are you not collecting food for the winter?” He said, “It is no where near winter.” He went home.  Soon it was Autumn.  All of the leaves from the trees fell off in the winter. The grasshopper was very hungry and he said, “The queen ant was right.” He saw the last leaf so he tried to get to it.  He started turning blue because he was freezing cold.  He saw the ant’s house and he tried to get to the ant’s home.  When he got there, he fell down.   The ants hurried outside and helped him inside.  The ants put him into hot water and fed him too.  The queen ant gave him his fiddle and said, “You can play your fiddle.” The ants and the grasshopper lived happily ever after.

In the summer, a grasshopper was playing an electric guitar instead of working and collecting food for the winter. When an ant went by and the grasshopper exclaimed “why work when you can play?” “Let’s dance”. Then the Queen ant came along. She looked at the ant and scared him and made the ant get back to work.

The Queen ant warned the grasshopper “the winter is coming soon, you should be storing food for the winter so you don’t starve to death”. But the grasshopper didn’t listen and went along playing his electric guitar In the green grassy meadow.

Before he knew it, it was winter and there was no food for the grasshopper to eat. The grasshopper saw a leaf but he wasn’t quick enough and it fluttered away like a butterfly. The grasshopper then saw the ant’s hut and knocked on the door. He fell over because he was so cold. The grasshopper had turned dark blue because he was as cold as the Himalayas. Then an ant came out and brought him inside and got him all warmed up. The Queen ant exclaimed and have him his electric guitar and let him stay and play it for her so he could stay.

The grasshopper lives in the meadows and her name is Lily. Once upon a time there lived a grasshopper called Lily. Lily had six children, one called Rose, another called Tiffany and many others. Lily played the bodhran drum. Her six children played the violin.

One summer day Lily and her children saw loads of food being carried by ants to their store house. Lily asked “what are you doing working so hard?” The ants replied “We are storing food for the winter and you should be too!” “Winter is far away” Lily said. But she was wrong because the next day it was Winter.

“Oh no, what am I going to do?” I have to feed myself and my little ones!” She panicked. Then she saw a leaf. She tried to grab it but it blew away. Then she saw a light in the distance; the ant’s house! She quickly went to the ant’s house but when she got to the door she fainted. When she woke, she was in the ant's house and it was like a warm bath.

The Queen ant came over and gave lily her bodhran drum and said “play for us”. And she did. They lived happily ever after.

In the summer the grasshopper was playing on his fiddle all day, and he was dancing around so happily that he was starting to get hungry.  So the grasshopper was searching for food in the dangerous jungle.  He found an ant with a gigantic barrel with cherries in it.  Then the grasshopper distracted the ant and the ant started to dance with the grasshopper.  The queen ant came then the ant quickly got back to work.  The queen ant warned the grasshopper to get lots of food in the summer otherwise he wouldn’t have any food in the the winter.  The grasshopper replied back to the queen ant and he laughed, “It’s nowhere near winter”.  Next day it was winter.  It was so cold that the grasshopper didn’t even feel like playing his fiddle.  He couldn’t find any food because the ground was covered in snow.  But he found one leaf and he was about to get it but the wind was too strong that the leaf flew away.  He turned purple because he was cold.  When he fell over he saw the ants having a big party.  Some ants came out and helped the grasshopper come into their huge party in their house.  They quickly warmed him up.  The grasshopper felt better.  The queen ant gave the fiddle back to the grasshopper and said, “Play your fiddle for us”.  In the end they were friends. As he walked the grass started to crack.

Once upon a time there lived a grasshopper who chirped all summer long.  One day the grasshopper saw that the ants were collecting food for the winter.  Grasshopper was still singing his beautiful music.  Then in the meadows the saw a little cottage with a long trail of ants carrying lots of food to the biggest tree in the meadows.  Then one of the ants came over and said in a cute voice “Mr Grasshopper, why aren’t you working and not getting food for with winter?” Then grasshopper replied and said in a proud voice “Winter is far away and anyway I have no need to get food for the winter because summer is the season for playing in the sun” said the grasshopper so he kept chirping.  Then he went to sleep.  In the morning grasshopper was sad his home was ruined.  He was wrong.  He walked in circles trying to find food.  “I found some food” the grasshopper cried.  But the leaf few away  Then he saw the ants home.  So he ran to the ants home but before he could make it he froze.  Luckily an ant went outside to take the trash out.  The ant saw the grasshopper and yelled “Grasshopper are you alright?”  The grasshopper could not talk.  He was blue because he was frozen.  So the ant screamed “Hospital ants out here right now”.  So the hospital ants ran out and brought the grasshopper in the tree and put him in boiling water.  When the ice melted the Queen ant came in.  Grasshopper sobbed, “Ow Queen ant all I want is food.  I’m starving I-I-I “.  “Sssshh” Queen ant said nicely.  “We all want to hear you and you get all the food you want”.

One day there was a really green grasshopper, he was having a disco.  He laughed and sang a lovely song.  The grasshopper wanted to go for a walk.  So off he went.  On the way he heard a buzzing noise.  He said “I wonder what that is?” So he went over to have a look.  “Ha ha ha, look at those foolish ants,.  Can’t they stop?”  The youngest ant was named Pipsqueak.  He wore red pants and a white t-shirt with a little white and red hat.  Grasshopper said “Hello” and Pipsqueak squeaked back, “Hello, my name is Pipsqueak”.  “Nice to meet you, Pipsqueak.  Would you like to dance with me?” “No” he screamed.  “I’m doing work and you should be doing the same”.  “Well then” groaned the grasshopper.  Soon winter fell.  The grasshopper turned green to blue.  He whined and whined until it started to rain  He struggled to the ant hill.  He fell down with sadness.  One ant came out. “Why are you here?” “Because I didn’t listen to you” “Oh come in it’s fine.  We've got lots of food” the ant said happily.  He came in.  The ants wanted music so they cried, “Music, music!”. He played the fiddle and they lived happily ever after.
