How Scissors Really Work  by Zoe K

You will need to put two or three fingers in the holes so that one blade is at the top and one blade is at the bottom.  You need to move your fingers up and down and the paper will cut.

There are different types of scissors like hair, paper and fabric, hospital and more.
Scissors need blades to slice the paper. The handle is connected to the blade so when you move your fingers the blades will move and cut the object. Scissors are divided into half and stuck together.
To get scissors to cut, you move your scissor forward and it will cut. Scissors need sharp blades so they can cut materials.

Scissors cut through with the metal blades. First put your hands in the holes at the top of the scissors so you can control the scissors.
The metal blades cut the paper to any shape you want. Scissors can cut cardboard, paper, sellotape and paper towels. There are two types of scissors. One type is what fire flighter’s use to cut open cars that have been involved in a car crash and still have people that are stuck inside. They look like big machines. The other type is what we use to cut paper, cardboard, and paper towels.

To work the scissors, lift up the scissors so that the blades aren’t touching each other. Push the blades in and when you open them up again it’s got a rip.

How to use scissors   by Alyssa G

Scissors are a simple machine we use to cut paper. You can put at least 2 or 3 fingers in the big hole of the handles and your thumb in the small hole. Lift our fingers up then put them on the piece of paper so one of the blades is on the top and the other is on the bottom. Then push our scissors down and keep on lifting them up and down. Once you’ve done that you will have two pieces of paper. You can cut anything you want.
