Visual Literacy - Photography

Our question was "Is Photography Art?"

As part of our "Express Yourself" Inquiry we have been looking at different forms of art.

We have learnt about different elements of photography and how to read and think about images. The students are giving feedback and feed-forward about the photos they are taking and have developed some amazing language along the way. They have to identify what element they are highlighting in their photo. Here is just a few of the photos that have been taken by Room 9 students. If you would like copies of the students photos please let me know and we can email them home. They would look amazing in a frame!

  1. Room 9, I am super impressed with your artistic edge in your photos. The feedback you have been giving to the photographers in the class has been specific and well thought out. I can't wait to share more with your whanau. I bet they are excited to see them too. Keep being amazing!

  2. Wow, those photos are so professional Room 9! They make a statement rather than being just a photo. Keep up the great work, you will be able to use this knowledge whenever you take photos in the future and when looking at other people's work. Pam Shaw
