Pippi's Letter

Pippi received a letter from our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, because she entered a drawing competition to creat the front of her Christmas card. Pippi didn't win, even though it was amazing. 

Seeds as food

 We have been watching a variety of different seeds germinate over the last week, and kept a diary of the changes each day.

Most of us were brave enough to taste them.  They were crunchy, healthy and delicious!

Fireworks

Fireworks - Lainee

Leaping into the starry sky making tremendous noise.

Nervously I watch the colourful blasts of rockets and roman candles.

Dazzling the photographer taking pictures of the colossal circles in the air.

I hear groups of strangers cheering wildly, yet babies frightened from the deafening noise.

I giggled as my brother tried to catch the flaming balls of fire.

As my mother grips my hand, I look back and see the fireworks are now a gigantic smudge of smoke and sparks

Fireworks- Pippi

First there is a little flame shooting up like pistols, then it comes down like really heavy rain or a crashing aeroplane.

It’s like bright lights of showers booming in the sky or really big sprinklers watering the stars.

It’s like one million fire flies flying down like crazy.

I hear it going off like an amazing big band or boom!

It’s like lots of shooting stars blooming through the dark or it’s like a cool movie with lots of flying fairies.

I smell the smoke from the booms and bangs running down the land, or maybe my two cats running from their frustration.

I heard fireworks burst in fire as loud as a monster truck turning on its motor.

I heard the sparky fireworks whistling through the smoky air.

I see joyful people saying more, more, more!!

I see sparks fly through the misty air.

I feel like little bunnies are jumping in my tummy a million times.

Fireworks – Liam C

One night I heard fireworks like an explosion in the moonlight.

It was amazing like destruction.

Sparkling down and fading away in the galaxy.

People were cheering loudly like dragons blowing their fire.

The Fireworks – Ajay B

Fireworks blow, Fireworks glow.

They can be any colours, any shape and size.

They can go any way and the most important thing is to have fun while they last.

The fireworks look like super mini rockets.

I saw rainbow patterns bursting across the sky and making big banging noises like an erupting volcano. Fiery flowers took over the midnight sky and showered down like a water fountain made out of fire. Without the fun fiery flowers that shot across the sky what would we use to celebrate instead of them?Aroha

Fireworks
Phew bang levitate blur exploded right next to me. The particles slowly disintegrated. My eyes flashed before me. My heart was pounding. I was going crazy with sparkles and everyone wanted more. It was so fun but bad for the 3 elements - life, air and ground. In the end I played soccer. Alex Card

Fireworks

Fireworks are a delight when they take flight.

When they launch off the ground, you hear the annoying sound, gorgeous patterns like Saturn in the galaxy.

People gazing at the amazing fireworks.

There can be teeny and tremendously big fireworks as well.

Fireworks are enjoyable and admirable. Sparks and a blast equals a firework.

I felt terrified when the enormous firework sprinkled to me.

Stu Hanchet, a marine biologist, visited us to talk about being a scientist. He talked about his job and answered lots of questions about sea creatures.

Delicious peas in pods.  We are sprouting lots of seeds and watching them germinate.  We will eat them too.
