Fibre to Fabric

We had to think carefully about what sort of fabric and other materials to make our soft toys from. Fay and Rachel came in to show us how to go from fibres to fabric with wool.

Which order shows the different stages to make the wool fibre into a fabric?

We are imagining the different materials cavemen and pioneers used for their clothing.

Trent is unravelling some knitting into a ball of wool.

This carding machine is useful to separate and sorted the wool fibre before we spin it.
Weaving on cardboard looms takes lots of patience and concentration.

Once the wool is spun, it needs to be rolled into balls from the hanks.
